NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

PRE-ENROLMENT AND REGISTRATION 2024-2025

Thanks to all the families who pre-enrolled before the deadline to help our school get ready for 2024–25!

We’re happy to let you know that, based on available space, all students who registered or pre-enrolled before March 22, 2024, have been accepted.

For the 2024 - 2025 school year, Daly Grove School is full in planned classes in:

Kindergarten and Grade 1 in the regular program. A Kindergarten student who is a resident and lives in the school's attendance area may still register. We will only accept resident students in Grade 1 whose parent(s)/legal guardian(s) have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or if you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

Overflow schools for Svend Hansen School for 2024–25

As of July 1, 2024, there will be additional overflow designated schools for the Svend Hansen School attendance area. Daly Grove will be one of the overflow designated schools. This will not affect any students currently attending the school.

The overflow designated schools for Svend Hansen will be divided into Laurel East and Laurel West. See how the neighbourhood is divided on this map.

Svend Hansen is a Level 3 school on the Growth Control Model. A Level 3 school only accepts new resident students from the school’s attendance area. However, these students are not necessarily guaranteed to attend. If a Level 3 school does not have space for all resident students living in the attendance area, a lottery process is used for specific grades after pre-enrolment closes. If there is no space in a particular grade at Svend Hansen School, students can attend their overflow designated school or they can choose to attend another Division school with space. As an overflow designated school for Svend Hansen, we have space for these students.

Laurel East families

New resident students who newly move into the Laurel East neighbourhood can attend Svend Hansen School if the school is not full in that grade. If the grade is full, the student can:

attend Weinlos (K–6) or Kate Chegwin (7–9) schools, or
attend another Division school with space in planned classes, or
remain at their current school.

Laurel West families

New resident students who newly move into the Laurel West neighbourhood can attend Svend Hansen School if the school is not full in that grade. If the grade is full, the student can:

attend Daly Grove (K–6) or T. D. Baker (7–9) schools, or
attend another Division school with space in planned classes, or
remain at their current school.

All Laurel West students currently enrolled in Kate Chegwin and Weinlos schools may continue to attend their current schools until their program is completed.

Yellow bus service will be available for eligible K–6 students attending their overflow designated school. Bus fees will apply.

Families who choose to attend another Division school rather than an overflow designated school will need to make their own transportation arrangements to get their child to and from school.
